Year 5 Journey Project
During my artist in residency, Whitchurch primary School, I developed a project based on the theme of journeys. Using booklets, discussions and group work the final piece resulted in aliens.
During the month at the school, the project developed from an illustration project to include mask making and group collaboration.
Pupils produced work in mix-and-match aliens, illustration, mixed media and used this to create larger final pieces and showing their group work.

Year 6 Rhiannon Roberts
During the artist in residence I also worked with a smaller group of Year 6 Pupils. This group produced cultural based paintings, representing Wales. This was influenced by the artist Rhiannon Roberts and helped pupils engage in their culture.
Pupils produce their final pieces using Rhiannon Roberts work as influence, acrylic paint and painted onto large canvases – so that they could be displayed within the school.
This project developed colour theory, painting techniques, contextual understanding and composition.
